HDRF Featured on CBS News’s Breaking the Stigma: Loneliness,
March 7, 2024

We are pleased to announce that Hope for Depression Research Foundation (HDRF) and our signature Teen Race of Hope was featured on a special CBS segment last night: Breaking the Stigma: Loneliness.

You can watch the segment here.

Breaking The Stigma: Overcoming Loneliness is CBS New York’s in-depth look at what the U.S. Surgeon General calls “the epidemic of loneliness.” Loneliness can impact just about anyone of any age and any circumstance. Extended periods of feeling lonely can have some serious impacts on physical health, reportedly causing a greater risk of cardiovascular disease, dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety and premature death.

In response to the urgent need to address mental health issues, particularly those affecting teenagers and young adults, the HDRF Teen Race of Hope was created by teens with HDRF in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. We hope you will join forces with us in our upcoming Teen Race of Hope on May 19, 2024 at Pier 76 to make this a truly impactful event raising awareness for one of the most urgent issues facing our nation today.
