J. Raymond DePaulo, Jr., M.D. is the Henry Phipps Professor and Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and Psychiatrist-in-Chief at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. As a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry for the past 31 years, Dr. DePaulo has been an active clinician, teacher, and researcher whose primary area of interest is in bipolar and depressive disorders.
Dr. DePaulo serves on the Scientific Advisory Boards of NARSAD (the National Association for Research in Schizophrenia and Depression), the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and the Depression and Bipolar Support Association (DBSA). Dr. DePaulo has received awards from the NIMH for public education and from the Depression and Bipolar Support Association, NARSAD, and the AFSP for his research in bipolar disorder and depressive disorders.
