Improving Depression Care in NYC,

Recently First Lady of New York Chirlane McCray continued her passionate campaign to raise awareness about depression and mental health.

In “Shattering the Mental Illness Stigma” (Daily News, February 26), she talks openly about her daughter’s recovery from depression and calls for broad improvements to the mental health system including wider access to care for all New Yorkers.

Depression Awareness at the Oscars,
February 25, 2015

From one of the freshest, most guileless faces of the evening came the most astonishing remark: “When I was 16, I tried to kill myself.”

We are referring, of course, to Graham Moore, who used his win for Best Adapted Screenplay (The Imitation Game) at Sunday’s Oscars to deliver powerful remarks about suicide awareness and depression.
